You aren't supposed to know that information. It's never a good idea to know the salary of your co-workers...and it is considered as privileged info.

The only way you would know is if you worked in the payroll or accounting department. I know, my wife's an accountant. She knows all the salaries, but would be fired if she divulged that information.

If you think you are not being paid as well as someone else that has the same job, you can always ask for a raise.

Usually this information is confidential when asking about someone in particular, however when asking in general what people make money wise, then i am not sure.

Please be careful with the way you word your question to management about the salary of a particular position in the company as this can be a "hot button issue".

if you work for a public company, go to www.sec.gov, do a search for your company, look at the most recent proxy stateemnt, and it will show the salaries of the top five people in your company.

You can also go to salary.com, and look specifically at a job title in a zip code. It will give you competitive rates.
