I have a tattoo on my forearm and need to cover it up everyday at work! Is there any type's bandages that look like skin I could put over it because I do not want to have to wear long sleeve shirts forever! I love the Tattoo but I have to work! Is there a makeup even?

I'm debating on whether or not I really want to get a tattoo considering it is a permanent mark that I can't remove without going through an extremely painful, not to mention exspensive, process.

No, I don't plan on getting anything on my arms, neck, chest, ankle...or anywhere else which could hinder me from a job in the future. I was thinking more lower on the hip in the front to the side, possibly lower back.

Thoughts?

If tattoos are a fad, and will be dead in a few years (or decades, whatever), then why have they been around for so long? I'm talking about the true tattooees, the ones who get them to express themselves, or as a reminder of something or someone, not the ones who get them to be cool or a badass.

While I'm up on my soapbox, I might as well ask why people think they would care what their tats will look like at 70, 80, etc. At that point, do you really think your looks will be your main priority? I know I will probably just be concerned with whether not I can still wipe my own a.ss.

This question is aimed at the ignoramouses that have nothing to do other than come to the tattoo section and bash something they know nothing about. Go away.

And of course...
show your tats!
I'm done.

I have thee tattoo's already but want more. I saw a tattoo done in white ink and i thought it was so lovely but low key. When i asked someone about it they said white ink tattoo's can turn yellow or brown with time. Is this true?? I don't want a yellow or brown tattoo.......

Why would/wouldn't you? Just because they can create works of art doesn't mean maybe they want them on THEIR skin.

As most of the regulars in the tattoo section of yahoo answers already knows we lost a giant in our field yesterday. For reasons beyond his control our friend and collegue Blair Watson will no longer be answering questions with us. He will be missed...... I hadn't been in the tattoo answer section of yahoo but a few days when I got my first off-line message from Blair....a simple "good answer man"......and it made my day. But that's the kind of guy Blair was.....quick to make friends, he always looked for the good in everybody. Blair also always made it clear that he was a husband and a dad first and foremost. He always had a smile on and I always looked forward to answering his quirky tattoo question of the day. Blair could be sarcastic at times but he was ALWAYS polite....even to those he disagreed with. He was a good example to all of us and I will miss reading his cheerful "show your tatts" tag line. From all your pals in the 12needleinjectiongroup.... You will be missed.

why? i mean if a person loves art or loves something so much and wants to put it on themselves to be there for all of time, whats the problem with that? I mean if you are an idoit and go out and get one without thinking I can complete agree that you should not have gotten tattoo but what about the people who think about and love tattoos yet still get harssed.

I mean Im 16 and someone came up to me and said i was stupid for getting a tattoo so young. First off im an artist so why should I not be fit wear the art I love, second i have been around tattoos all my life (both parents are tattooed up) and thrid i thought about what I was getting AND KNEW I WOULD NOT REGRET IT, where i was going to put it, and what it means for my furture, yet this person still thought it was THEIR business to tell me that I should not have gotten it. why do people who dont even have ink have such a problem with tattoos AND SEEM IN THEIR MINE FIT TO TELL OTHER PEOPLE WHY THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE IT OR GET IT?

I was thinking of getting the phrase, "Love me for me" tattoo'd on my arm, is that phrase stupid - not the tattoo the phrasing.

I've seen some mixed viewpoints about this. Some say that they don't see the point in having a tattoo written in a language you can't speak. Others think that other languages such as Arabic and Latin look beautiful and it's the message in the translation that is important.

What do you think?

Do any of you have a tattoo in a non-English language?

Are there any languages which you think are particularly beautiful when written down? (Whether used for tattoos or not)

I got a tatoo on my ankle, but it was right on the bone, and even though it only took about five minutes, it hurt like you wouldn't believe. I want to get one on my lower back, but the idea of it being right on the spinal cord makes me think it would be unbearably painful. Is it?

I have had my tattoos for a few years, but I still like to just sit and look at them. My boyfriend laughs at me, but sometimes I just like to sit and stare at my tattoos I like them so much. Anyone else? Or am I a freak?

They're so disgustingly trashy..every girl has the same F-in tattoo...it's either a tribal...or Kanji...or stars..or some random words. I don't get it...They're horrendous.

For the girls that have them...how do you feel about 90% of men thinking you're just some common wh0re??

For the girls who do have them...what do you have??

Im not quite sure how tattoos work, but i would think, even though the ink is driven fairly deep into the skin, the bottom-most layer of flesh with ink in it would eventually reach the surface (since we ARE constantly shedding dead skin cells). so what causes a tattoo to be so permanent that that doesn't happen?
