What is the general consensus around these parts? Since I am a newbie and all, just trying to fell this crowd out.

Mine is on my ankle, and I love to show it off when I have the chance. But I don't always get too, because I live in Alberta, Canada, and it's been freakin cold for the last 6 months, so I haven't been wearing skirts or shorts or anything like that. So it's been hidden. I'm going to get more tats though, and they will be in places that will be easy to cover up if I need to for work or whatever.

Quite frankly, my tattoos have become a pain in the ***. Usually they give me unwanted attention. I often go through great lengths to hide them but sometimes that's even more ridiculous than showing them. I have to be very careful b/c I don't want my daughter to be treated differently b/c she has a heavily inked mom. The reality is that they sometimes make others feel uncomfortable. I used to be in-your-face about that but I've softened a bit with age.

I've never quite understood the point of getting a tattoo just to hide it. What's the point of paying all the money, going through all the pain, and exerting the effort in general that's involved with the process, if you're just going to cover it?
Obviously I show mine off every chance I get.

It is a matter of personal opinion. I have 11 including one on the back of my head (a set of eyes). I show mine off all the time, then again, that is me. I show them off because I enjoy them and I am proud of them. Also, I really don't give a hoot what people think about them, I am the one that has to live with them, not them.

I show them off all the time. Of coarse i have a full sleeve on my right arm. Hard to hide. But i love my tattoos.

I dont see the point of gettin a tat if you are gonna hide it. You get em so you could show em off and let ppl see who you are. Tats are art and why hide art.

first of all you shouldn't feel crowds... you may get your hand bitten.
ummmm, i show my tattoos more at night because the hot hot louisiana sun burns them. so during the day my tattoos are generally hidden (unless i am wearing flip flops and my feet are exposed) and when i go out my back tattoo shows when i feel like showing it.

I got a tattoo on my foot, that way it's easy to hide or show - whichever is appropriate. Tattoos are a form of expression - why hide them?

I do not hide them or show them off, they are part of me just like an arm or leg, in hot weather you can see more of me than when its cold out. Besides, once you have them on your neck, hands, ears etc.... kinda hard to cover those anyway!
