I like to be true to myself, but sometimes I tend to accommodate the person I'm with, friend or stranger, by slightly changing my personality to make one feel more comfortable, or at ease.
I like to be myself, but for example, if I'm with business associates I have a 'business' personality, and if I'm with friends I'm myself (funny / a little weird / quirky), and when I'm with family, I'm just the same except a little bit more crazy. I tend to read the person I'm with, then change up a little to adapt to the person.
The closest thing I could find to explain myself is how Dave Chapelle explains it, except he relates it to pressure.

I relate to this clip on so many levels..
Is it just me, or do other people do this? I want to be myself ALL the time, but I'll probably loose my job, repel the opposite sex and be a social nut case.
Its a shame...because i have this funny feeling I'll be more successful professionally and socially if I was just me.
