Everything has just been so bland lately. My job is boring, my friends are boring, and where I live is boring (Raleigh, NC). I know I need to do something but I just don't have the energy.

Any ideas on how to get happy again? (Please don't say join a group - I've already done that and it doesn't work.)

Why did God create us? The answer that the bible seems to provide is: for His pleasure (Revelation 4:11) (Colossians 1:16)

According to Matthew's Gospel, the very essence of the Law and the Prophets is to love God and to love others (Matthew 7:12), so loving God is essential to being a Christian.

There are so many of us who use the freedom of choice that He knew, being the omnipotent being He is (Matthew 19:26), would lead us to choose a path that excluded Him. He knows and says that many of us will go to Hell and few will make it to Heaven (Matt.7:13-14) How can I love someone that says He Loves me, but has chosen not to allow me to live forever with Him in Heaven, but has created an environment where I can possibly go to hell? Why doesn’t God just bypass the suffering and create our soul with him in heaven where of course there is only joy?

How can I love someone who has made me and placed me here to struggle and suffer through life for His pleasure?

folks, i plan on getting a armband tattoo, thorns maybe. however my partner says it's trashy for a woman to have a armband. i'm solid, never will be skinny. tell me folks if you were in line and spot a woman with a armband tattoo is your first thought - trashy woman -? i bet i'm older than most of you with a kid in high school. come on i need your past thoughts when you have looked up and saw a arm band on a woman..what did ya think of her?

I am 26 and in okay shape. I was in the military, and have some college under my belt. I have never been arrested, and and 2 tickets like 5 years back, I want to join the police force, but I have a bankruptcy that I filed when I was like 23, I was married young and my ex put me and left me in debt. My credit is on the rise and I make all of my payments on time and pay more than the limit. Can I apply! Or do I need waivers and if so how hard are they to get?

I have never been a religious person but have been feeling a pull to become so. I realize I can’t handle all life's challenges on my own and have been told all you have to do is ask Jesus to come into your life and be your savior. I have done this numerous times but I am not getting anywhere. I don’t except for my life to change at the snap of a finger but, I just don’t feel like I am getting anywhere. What can I do? I need some support and "help". I want to know he is with me and I am not alone trying to get through it all on my own. I just don’t know what else to do, as far as how to ask. One more thing and this is a stupid question I know; I hear people say they have found Jesus and/or found god. Is their a difference? I thought God was Jesus’ father. Dumb I know but I have just obviously had very little exposure to formal religion. Bare with me, I am trying.

horrible defending from Onyewu and Bradley (who is the coach's son). Onweyu's OG should not have been a goal at all, Kaka just tapped the ball into the box, that was a totally unnecessary goal that a defender of a better calibre could have prevented. Same thing with Bradley, he clearly assaulted the Brazilian player inside the box for no reason.

I can only burn my pillar candles a few times, then the wicks are sitting down in little holes in the wax and are difficult to light. If I can get them lit, they go out quickly as the wax melts onto them. How can I burn the rest of the candle??

In my job search, I am seeing a lot of references to W2 contracts and 1099 contracts. I assume W2 means working for a contracting company and 1099 is as an independent contractor, but I am not real sure. Could someone explain the differences?

I just recently found out that my boyfriend's ex is this gorgeous girl that happens to model.
I'm not ugly, I've modeled before myself.
But it's kinda hurting me knowing that his ex is this tall, blonde, blue eyed beauty.
I know I should accept the fact that he's with me (2 years) and move on.

But it's proving harder than I thought. Anyone else ever face this--and how did you overcome it?

I am a Cristian and I , based on my own findings and studies of the Bible, do not believe that it is a sin for a man to have more than one wife. So long as he is following the standards of God , as any man should follow according to the treatment of his own wife. I do not wish to debate the issue, but only wish for the ones who pratice it or know about it to answer and let me in to there lives a bit. I already know that the word "trinity" is not in the Bible, but if the trinity concept is a Christian teaching, there should be clear evidence of it in what Jesus taught his followers.

I think that is so ridiculous. It was an accident, it's not like McDonald's food isn't salty to begin with. I eat there sometimes, I don't have the workers arrested because it's not the healthiest choice.
