f(x) =9xsquared - 8x -8 f(10)=
Please answer and explain step by step how to work this problem. I'm having MAJOR problems in my algebra class. Any websites that explain Domain and Functions would also be very helpful. Please explain how you came up with the answer.Thanks.

Domain of a function (i think) means where in the function do the x values give real answers. (ex. the domain of y=x^(1/2) is from 0--infinity because negative numbers do not give real solutions.). therefore the domain of this function is all real numbers (negative infinity to positive infinity) because no matter what x value you put in, you will get some sort of f(x) value without any errors.

with f(x)=9x^2-8x-8 for f(10) means whereever you see an x, replace it with a 10. If you had something like f(x)=x^3. when you see f(p), replace any x's with p and you get f(p)=p^3. this equation works the same way. f(x)=9x^2-8x-8 becomes f(10)=9(10)^2-8(10)-8 by replacing any x's with 8

You get this afterwards:
f(10)=9(10)^2-8(10)-8
f(10)=9(100)-80-8
f(10)=900-80-8
f(10)=820-8
f(10)=812

therefore, f(10)=812 in this case.

Here, 'f' is a function.
You throw in x and out comes 9x^2-8x-8
You throw in a 10 and out comes 9*10^2-8*10-8
or 812.

The domain is all the x's you can use.
Here there is no restriction on what x to use so
the domain is all x or -infinity Usual restrictions for real numbers are division by 0 and the roots of negative numbers.

You should do your own web search for Domain and
Function and pick out what you like.

Set the polynomial = 0 and factor. (–x + 3)(x – 7) = 0 So recommendations that make this polynomial = 0 could be x = 7 and x = 3. yet you've gotten the sq. root of 0 ... this isn't an issue. yet you do no longer prefer to have damaging numbers decrease than the muse. Soooo .... Plot 3 and seven on a huge form line and divide it into 3 periods. attempt a value in each era (sub in selection to x) to be certain in case you get a very good or damaging y fee. you do no longer prefer the damaging values, so as quickly as you establish which era produces those, do away with that out of your area. desire that helps!

f(x) = 9x^2-9x-8
This is a simple polynomial function and so its domain is all the real numbers.

f(10) = 9*100 -8*10 -8 = 900 -88 = 812
