Could I still be a good, well-respected surgeon, even if I'm from Indiana? Because supposedly, people from Indiana are "dumb"... v.v Like, are there any famous or well-known, good surgeons from Indiana that I could see as a role-model? And does Indiana have alot of surgeons? Or is it like the least likely place to produce surgeons. I mean, like, are the LEAST amount of surgeons from Indiana? Or are there alot of surgeone in Indiana? I'm really paranoid that because I'm from Indiana, I won't make a good surgeon...

I had a doctor's appt last week when I was 10 weeks pregnant because I was having some brown spotting. All they did at the appt. was listen for the heartbeat, which they found and said it sounded strong. I still had some brown spotting for a couple of days after my appt. Now I'm 11 weeks pregnant and the spotting has stopped, but my nausea seems to be going away, could I have had a missed miscarriage even though we just heard the hearbeat a week ago? By the way, the doctor told me not to worry about the spotting, but I still do, even though its gone now.

atoms have electrons(negative) and protons(positive)...and they said that opposite attracts each other. The nucleus of an atom contains protons. The electrons now orbit around the nucleus? why is it like that? why isn't the electron attracted by the nucleus eh it contains the protons?

Okay I'm hoping for a few serious responses here...

I'm Atheist, and my BF and his Dad's side of the family are Catholic. I haven't met them all yet, but I have the opportunity to meet all of them in about two weeks. They are gathering for his cousin's coronation ceremony, as he is studying to be a lawyer at the Vatican in Rome. Obviously, the ceremony will be in a church. I have been atheist since I was 13, and on principal, have avoided churches. We can either go to the coronation, or just meet up with everyone afterwards for a get-together.

For any atheists out there, would you personally attend a ceremony such as that under these circumstances, or would you just skip it and go to the "after-party" of sorts?

I have pretty bad OCD, i don't have money to see a thearpist. I'm looking for some self-help things.. I have obsessively think about things that I know will upset or worry me knowing that they will.. I'm suffering from chronic abdominal pain which I know is from constant worry and fear all due to my own thoughts. I also have pretty severe dermatillomania. I pick my scalp until it bleeds.. then pick the scabs. My boyfriend tries to help me. He'll smack my hand away but I am unknowingly back at it 2 minutes later. I bite my nails terrible, but more the skin around it and pick any scabs I can find. It's terrible & disgusting.

If anybody has similar experiences and want to talk.. let me know. Or if you have any advice.. please give it. I just want to get over with this, it's been plaguing me my whole life.

My 12.5 year old daughter was watching TV and asked my why some people give their babies up for adoption. I'm pregnant with my 3rd child and she's excited to be a big sister again, but couldn't understand how someone could give up their baby. I tried to explain to her that sometimes girls/women get pregnant and can't raise their babies and give them to families that can. She thought that was cruel and couldn't understand how a mommy couldn't want her baby. How would you have answered this question so I sounded like it was the best thing for the baby? It really seems to be bothering her now. Any ideas on how to best explain this to her would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently finishing my teaching degree, and was astonished at the high levels of geography knowledge displayed by my class young American students, during my trainee teacher week.

This was one of the maps of the world was submitted to me in homework by a 10 year old.

I typically find the slash/thriller movies hilarious... I've seen all the Friday the 13th. I plan on seeing all of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, and the Halloween movies... I also saw some movies with a killer leprechaun. Are there any other movies in this genre, with funny killers? Like killer clowns, etc.?
