Everybody tells me that I am really pretty/ beautiful, but everytime I look into a mirror all I see is someone that is ugly and fat. I don't listen to what anybody says about how I look because unless I can see that I am beautiful and skinny, then i won't believe it. What can I do to get over my problems with my self image?

I know that tom(my fiance) leaves feb 5. for san diego. I know he leaves for 3 months in to the *** kicking of his life. Now, we're getting married in 4 weeks. Im super excited but I have people tellin me bad things about the marines. That I am not going to be covered with medical insurance while hes at boot camp and it will take almost a year. Also that it takes years to get housing and that thier housing is the worst in all the branches. I know that all recruiters fluff up the image to the family of soon to be marines so it sounds nice...i know this but i need to know the truth. Im willing to deal with the obligations of marine life becuase its what he wants to do. Please im looking for advice...thanks alot...god bless
ps. where are all the marine bases at..just wondering so I can research

Okay i know im not the prettiest girl but honestly i dont look that bad, im just not gorgous. My mom tells me im ugly that i dont fit in with other people, that i dont have friends that ther only beautfiul part on me is my armpitt cause i was saying that i dont have hair down there. like wdf did she ever care about how i feel? i mean im only not perfect because of her, she ***** made me i didnt choose how i looked you know. It really hurts how the person who is serpose to support me and understand me is the person that hurts me. I cant tell her when im not okay because she'll just say something shitty to me that will hurt. You know what i cant stand when people tell me im ugly or they say crap about it, i just burst into tears. I am crying right now. I cant take it, no one helps no one makes me feel beautful or loved, almost everyone i meet at school are fake and two faced. I really cant help it that im not perfect, im not normal like everyone else, i feel so different. i dont fit in.

A fellow poster here asked if she should be suspicious of her husband playing online poker with a particular female online person. Everyone jumped and said "he's probably cheating! kick him to the curb!"

I'm online a lot. Usually here or on another message board. Yeah it's a great life but I'm not doing anything wrong. At the same time, I don't like it when my guy gets into "what are you doing" online. I'm not looking at porn, I'm not chatting with any men, I'm just here reading. I've chatted with men online and played many games with men online. Some are funny as hell. I've had a lot of fun. But I'm not breaking any laws doing it and I'm not cheating! Why are we so quick to jump on some guy's case because he plays a lot of online poker - with women?

Marriage is a matter of picking your battles. If her husband is a good man otherwise, I don't see why he shouldn't have fun online playing poker. Only if it interferes with their marriage would it be a problem.

My whole family are devout Christians. Allow me to take the liberty of saying that at 14 years old I know about sex. My parents never said a word, and when asked about how babys are "made" in earlier years they said God put them in moomy's belly... Thats cool, but at our church ever other kid knows about it. even the 10 year old friend my sister hangs out is well informed (thank God my sis don't know about it yet)
Anyway, my parents are OVERprotective, they won't even talk about suicide, they redirct it until we(kids) leave the room.
I go to Christian school, and my Bible teacher rarely meantions it, but occationally he takes a side course on it.
Anyway, I don't wanna come straight out and tell 'em, they'll think they've ruined my childhood exc....(WHICH IS OVER, I CAN LEGALLY GET A JOB!)
I really wish I could be normal like all the other 14 yr old teenagers at church and school.
I'd like them just to not be so protective...How can I get 'em to stop protecting me to much?

He was my best friend and I still miss him everyday. I just wonder if he will ever make contact. Has anyone else experienced something like this and gotten together with someone from their pasts (wanted to marry.... but never did)? It still hurts and not a day goes by that I don't think of him.

We stopped being friends and talking because his wife would not allow him to talk to me or stay friends with me...(she was very controlling) so I stopped making contact. I just don't want to hurt for the rest of my life. Pain doesn't seem to go away! I wonder if he even thinks of me at all. There was a time that I couldnt ever have imagined not being friends with him. Now I don't even know if he thinks of me at all?! Do you yearn for someone that you dated before? Have you tried to contact him/her?? What was the result?
