Tomorrow I need to give some young boys a lesson on Paul the apostle and David from Old Test.
I want to show the contrasting directions of their lives with maturity.

Can you please tell me what you like about David's story and what you like about Paul, the apostle's??
Thank you

David from the start knew about God and believed in Him with all his heart, soul and mind. Although he was after God's own heart or he is a God chaser, he committed a sin (murder & adultery) and did not recognize the sin until God used the prophet Samuel to warn David of the dangerous path he was leading separating him from God.

On the other hand, Paul believed in God, but in a wrong way. He followed a false religion and went after the early Christians to kill them (murder) for believing in Jesus. He really thought he was pleasing God if he murdered Christians. When Jesus manifested and revealed Himself to Paul and showed him the Truth, Paul became the greatest defender of Jesus and the Christian faith and was willing to die for the Messiah.

They are both used by God in different ways with one purpose - for God to be known by His creation. Both were once separated from God, but found Him and sincerely repented by having the most personal and deep relationship with God.

David became an icon in the eyes of the Jews, but Paul was an icon of Christianity, Jews and Gentiles alike.

Well, David listened to God early on, and his faith helped him slay Goliath. I like that he trusted God enough to take on Goliath when everyone else was too afraid to do so.

Paul came to God later and did not have a good life before. However, what I liked about his story is that he had the courage and maturity to change his direction. Even after a major revelation many people would go back into the same ruts. Not him. He changed his life for good and it couldn't have been easy.

Good luck.

Nice fables, but Paul is really a drag. No wonder everyone hated him. I wouldn't invite that guy to a party.

They explain the coming of Jesus Christ and I really like the fact that I don't have to be puzzled anymore.
