I have no available funds and need to find a way to get to and from work, from yonkers to manhattan. A weekly metro card would be perfect, but how do i get one? My job doesn't offer it.

I've never driven to NYC before, but in a few weeks I'm going there to visit for about five days. I want to park my car at a train station, then take the train in so I don't have to deal with NYC driving and parking. Where would a good, cheap-ish, safe place in Jersey be to do this, if I'm coming from the Pennsylvania Turnpike? Would parking at Newark airport be reasonable? I'm trying to save money, and it would be pointless if parking costs more than airfare, lol.

I live in the upper west side of manhattan, and my friends and I are thinking having a party at the beach. I was thinking about Jones Beach, but they close at sunset. Where's a good place (if any) to have a party at the beach where you can drink and have fun even after it gets dark?

Eastern Long Island. Thinking of living in Hoboken, NJ. Will have a car, but may not use it to get to work. That's my question. I will be making about $15.00/hour. Don't really want to live on Long Island for some reason. Not sure why.
Would consider Brooklyn or Queens. Where should I live? Should I drive to work? Take the Long Island railroad? My shift will be 4:00 pm to 1:00 am. Driving home should not be a problem, but going to work at 4:00 could be a hassle.

I'm taking my (slightly) better half to New York this new year, for his 30th birthday.
I was looking for ideas on where we could dine preferably somewhere with a Times Square view (to avoid being a sardine)
Or is there anything on in Central Park/Empire State Building at midnight?
Does anyone also knoware the shops open on the 1st of January?
Many many thanks.

Hi,
I will be a student in NYC, and I need somewhere to park my car for the 15-31 August, so that's 16 days. I found some information here: http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/html/harrison.html
However, does anybody from the area know, will any/most of the places allow me to park my car for 16 days or is it only a daily/monthly thing? I'm just looking for the cheapest options. There's metropark, NJ but that's farther away. Those 3 dollar garages look pretty good.
Lastly, would this be a safe area to leave the car and to walk around in? Thanks
