I have no available funds and need to find a way to get to and from work, from yonkers to manhattan. A weekly metro card would be perfect, but how do i get one? My job doesn't offer it.

Nope, you have to pay just like everyone else. But more importantly the subway (and therefore metrocard) does not go to Yonkers which is in Westchester County. You would also need to take MetroNorth railroad to get there which has its own peak and off peak fare. http://www.mta.info/mnr/html/planning/schedules/

There no such thing but there are 1/2 fair for disabled and eldery
however if you are below the poverty level you might get the state socal services for children and family to help you out.

Working for the MTA gets you a free metrocard! But other than that your out of luck. Ask your job if they offer transit check...they deduct it from your paycheck pretax.

I don't think so.

Do you have any friends near where you work that might let you crash with them? Then you can walk to work.

Legally - there is NO way...

I suppose you could always try to forge one - or just mug somebody for theirs. Those are about the ONLY ways to get a free one - as well as a one-way ticket straight to JAIL ;););););)
