Pros: Great Restaurants; family oriented; close to Manhattan; lots of great shopping (Steinway); Astoria Park, convenient
Cons: TRANSPORTATION!!! Subway-if the subway is not workiing (which always happens lately) then you're screwed!

Pros: Nice area, houses and trees have a neighborhood feel. Much more affordable than Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn.
Cons: A woman was raped there last week. This doesn't happen often, but they have yet to catch the guy. Watch out, ladies.

Pro: It's a quick commute to Manhattan. Rents are not too ridiculous yet. It's safe. There are lots of great restaurants and great people.
Con: Parts of it still look industrial. Shopping's not that great.
