My family and i are going to new york during christmas, we're gonna be staying in harlem around 129th street between 5th ave and madison, is it safe?

i recently just went to NY and i visited manhattan, central park, 5th ave and i just
fell in love with it but its soo expensive
what are some nice affordable areas in manhattan? or at least
very close to it

I'm looking at the weather and it says 79 and 80's but there are T-storms and showers? Does that mean its all humid and showering at the same time?

I'm asking b/c I'll be in NYC on 8/22 for the week so I want to know WHAT I NEED or SHOULD PACK!!

The traffic is TERRIBLE most times of the day. LA is bad but only during Rush Hour and weekends.

MOST of the buildings are scummy looking and look like concrete and are old and raggedy.

WTF, it cost 1 million dollars STARTING for a rat infested 1 bedroom studio in Manhattan!

Pollution is bad, not LA bad but still bad, the 2 Rivers around Manhattan smells like fecal Matter!

New Yorkers seem to think they ahve the tallest and best buildings. NO! The Empire State Building is only the third tallest building in america. The Sears Tower and John Hancock Center in Chicago are taller, on a worldwide scale the ESB can't even compare to other buildings.

New York City isn't even the most populated city on the continent, Mexico City almost has twice as much as people.

The subways are dirty and always flood and there is no reception.

In the Bronx (i forget which highway) there are these jail or hospital like buildings alongside it. What are they, what are they used for. At first i thought it was Rikers Island but it was not. They are beige colored. Please im really curious to know. thanks.

I live in Bronx NY and I think The Bonx is the best cuz there'z not alot of violence and everyone is nice here The Bronx also have prade celabrating the Bronx and alot of fun things goin on... what do you think of Da Bronxx?

I'm going to be in upstate New York, around Duchess County, and was wondering if anyone has some swimming ideas? I know some of the holes have been regulated as non-swimming and dangerous. I'm looking for legal or unpatrolled. If you know what I'm talking about, I mean like Bish Bash Falls like 10 years ago when it was still legal to swim in the bottom.

Also, just looking to have fun- any other ideas are welcome too! Something like open farms or fruit-picking, or cute towns...
