About 30-33 minutes local, 27-29 minutes express.

Expresses run Times Square-bound in the morning (about 6:30 AM to about noon, and after Mets baseball games), and Flushing-bound in the afternoon/evening (about noon to about 10 PM). 7-in-a-circle is local, 7-in-a-diamond is express.

This, of course, is assuming they're running on or close to schedule, which they often do. The #7 is consistently rated by riders to be among the city's best.

You'll have to take the entire ride on the 7 train. From Main Street to 42nd Street. If you want to get to the heart of Times Square, you'll need to take the S shuttle once at Grand Central Station to get you across town.
