WHOA. Completely different. Ithaca is a very small city (in my opinion, barely a city) in the middle of the mountains about 10 hours upstate from New York, and has snow on the ground about 9 months a year. New York City is one of the largest cities in the world and has a fairly temperate climate. Nothing to do in Ithaca if you don't go to the colleges there besides ski. Lots to do in New York.

Totally different. Ithaca's nice, but it's in a more rural part of New York, it's more of a small, college town. New York is massive, many more people, things are open later. Ithaca gets colder in the winter, gets more snow.

NYC is huge and a real melting pot. Ithaca is a small city or a large town depending on what form of government they have.

It would not suck in any respect.
