Whilst most foreigners would want to head to New England-New York/Florida/California, for some reason I have this strange desire to tour around Wisconsin/Minnesota/Nebraska/N&S Dakota/Iowa. But I don't have a driving licence. Is it still possible to travel extensively around these states, including small towns, by say local bus, trains ect. What do these states have to offer, I'm interested in a tour around Millers Brewery in Milwaukee, is this a good day out?

When I was travelling in America I noticed that serif fonts seem to be the standard choice for advertisements, shop signs, brochures, logos, websites, posters, signs in supermarkets and airports and even stickers on cars. In Europe, on the other hand, you see mostly sans serif fonts. Why do American marketeers prefer serif fonts? I find this puzzling because I associate serif fonts with traditionalism and sans fonts with modernity. Surely it should be the other way around, since Americans are normally the first to embrace all things modern?

I am 29. My parents are in their mid 50s. They like to travel, but a 2 hours walk will be as active as they will be.
Around $200/night should not be an issue - more than that - only if it is really worth it!

OK - Here's the situation:

I currently live in Washington, DC - but the girl I've been seeing (and who I'd like to be exclusively dating) lives in San Diego, CA. I am flying out to San Diego on Valentine's day and should arrive around 8:30pm. I've already told her that I want to take her out and do something for the holiday, but I'm not really sure what to do.

I'm looking for something romantic... but not too too expensive. Is there a romantic location i could take her to talk? Maybe a nice, quiet lounge to grab a drink?

Please let me know what you think a romantic San Diego Valentine's day - night would include. Remember, the night has to start after 8:30 - but can go as late as you like.

Your help is appreciated. I look forward to reading your answers.

I'll be going to Las Vegas in April 11-15 for my anniversary. I'm looking for any cheap deals that anyone knows of. Right now I have RT air for 2 at $499 (United) from Chicago and 4 nights at the hotel for $200 Stratosphere.

I'm looking to see if I can find any better deals before I book this. I've already looked at Fatwallet and Slickdeals and haven't found anything yet.
Any suggestions?
Also, is it worth it to get a car, or is the public transport in Vegas pretty good/cheap?
Any elp would be appreciated!!
Thanks!
