I'll be going to Las Vegas in April 11-15 for my anniversary. I'm looking for any cheap deals that anyone knows of. Right now I have RT air for 2 at $499 (United) from Chicago and 4 nights at the hotel for $200 Stratosphere.

I'm looking to see if I can find any better deals before I book this. I've already looked at Fatwallet and Slickdeals and haven't found anything yet.
Any suggestions?
Also, is it worth it to get a car, or is the public transport in Vegas pretty good/cheap?
Any elp would be appreciated!!
Thanks!

If you are willing to leave from Gary/Chicago Airport and use SkyValue airlines you will get a great deal. THey only fly to and from vegas on sundays and wednesdays which is perfect for your trip. I am going at the beginning of march and for 2 round trip tickets through travelworm.com it cost 370.00! They also haave great deals on hotel packages, we are staying at the Harrah's on the strip and all told airfare and hotel it's costing 795.25. Its a great deal. the website is http://www.travelworm.com and you can call them too, they will make a great deal for you over the phone that even beats the website. Ask for Jose, he was great. 1-888-700-8342

Congrats on ur upcoming anniversary! I can't be of much help, but I was told that the Stratosphere would not be much fun, it is very far from the actual strip, and I did read alot of negative comments about it. I personally don't care about the "name" of the hotel, I would like somewhere decent and CLEAN. We have booked our trip for our 13th anniversary for March. You might want to try for some other dates and find reasonable prices, I think I read above there is a convention in town, u might not be able to find decent prices, or if those are your set dates, book now, cause the longer u wait, the less that will be available. I tried booking Sunday, debit card wouldn't take...really upset...and tried again the next day and bam..found lower rates...better hotel...cheaper rates..but can't say that will happen to u. Public transport...don't let the cabbie ppl fool you, they will try takin u the long way...Try and get a all day monorail pass..cheaper and better then just buying a single trip one. You could rent a car, but finding parking spaces might be a problem. Here are some of the websites I used to try and find us a good deal! Good Luck!

We were in Vegas one day last year..Freemont Strip..I loved it...but are stayin on the strip this year!

Congratulations on your upcoming Vegas trip! You're going to love it!

You may want to check out www.funjet.com. They offer a variety of flights, hotels, tickets to events and attractions, and transfers to and from your hotel and airport.

My husband and I travel to Vegas regularly. We've always used funjet and haven't ever had a problem with them. Also, in all of the times we've been to Vegas, we've never rented a car. The public transportation is pretty good (the monorail can be expensive, but it is convenient) and the Double Decker Deuce buses are plentiful. Cab rides are expensive, but the weather will likely be BEAUTIFUL in April, so enjoy the sunshine and walk a bit.

As far as the Stratosphere goes, it is located in what we've dubbed "dirty Vegas." Sure, it's cheap...for a reason. You may want to spend a little extra for a nicer hotel. Maybe try Bally's, NYNY or Luxor.

I will say that Stratosphere has one of my favorite shows, "American Superstars." It is fun and very entertaining. Their Elvis impersonator is fantastic!

Good luck and best wishes for a fantastic trip!

There are many flights out of Chicago that day. All of them ranging from $245/person to $250. The Harrah's hotels will be a little more expensive that weekend because there is a televised poker tournament that weekend at Ceasar's. If you call the hotel, you may be able to get an "Anniverary" discount or upgrade if you ask.

You're welcome to check this link out. It searches all the other websites for prices and shows the best rates:

Also, there are shuttles that will take you anywhere and cabs. They also have the monorail which will take you anywhere on the strip from the Sahara to MGM. A 3 day pass with unlimited rides will be $35/person.

There is a GIANT convention going on there during that time (National Assoc. of Broadcasters). Hotels deals right now are pretty hard to come by. I am going around that time and had a hard time finding good rates on hotels, finally ended up renting a house.

We always get a car, Alamo or Advantage usually have cars for less than $20 per day. Valet parking is free (+tip) so it's easy to park.

Check out Northwestern Airlines. I don't know what prices are like from Chicago, but I got a 2 round trip tickets from Pittsburgh, PA to Las Vegas for $320.

I don't know what other sites you would look at for more discounts. I do know that if you intend on staying on the Strip you don't need to rent a car. Everything is on the Strip and the buses run like every 15 minutes. They can be busy at times though. Even so it's not like you'll be going far. Have a great trip :)

I agree with the other people here that Stratosphere won't be the nicest place for your anniversary. (Except for it's Top of the World revolving restaurant - that's great! and pricey.) I've heard it's best to check directly at hotel websites for their best deals. Best moderately-priced hotels: Aladdin, Monte Carlo, Tropicana.
As for the transportation, there are buses, shuttles, monorails, trolleys...it's actually kinda complicated. Check the site below for details.

The Stratosphere sucks. It's waaaaay at the north end of the Strip, a long walk from anything cool. It's under renovation and is old and dumpy. You'll be disappointed.

nicely, all the inns you have chosen are particularly near to eachother and are on the south end of the strip, perchance it relatively is the reason you chosen them. MGM Grand is taken into consideration one of my sought after inns, I relatively love that hotel. The rooms have been wonderful and gentle, and maximum severely (to me) the rooms did no longer scent like smoke. The pool is astounding, the eating places are large. I even have by no potential relatively considered any celebrities there different than for Kurt Thomas and that i assuming he became into in Vegas simply by fact he became into traded the day in the previous :) it relatively is the the final provide up on the monorail on the south end and rapidly connects you to something of the strip. ny ny has an wonderful on line casino. i admire each little thing with reference to the floor floor. I even have heard the rooms tend to be smaller at this hotel. Mandalay Bay is astounding. between the Southern maximum strip inns with mini monorail connecting to Luxor and Excalibur. The hotel in its entirety is astounding. stable pool. Luxor provides me vertigo, i will in all probability by no potential stay there. however the golf equipment are stable. LAX is well-known for celeb sitings. you may as nicely see Carrot good on any given day! : ) My %.: MGM grand!
