United States - January 2007

I'm taking this vacation alone (maybe a couple of the fella's if they clear it with the wife). I've excluded NY and Las Vegas becuase I'll be going to those places in the upcomming months. This is my first seperate vacation (without the wifey) and I'd like to go someplace with some seriously good nightlife or Great rollercosters.

Things I like to do on Vacation...

Drink
Club (Hip Hop or Mixed)
Stay out late
Gamble (but somewhere that has other attractions or I may exceed my budget)

or

Ride Roller coaster (If there are any theme parks open in April I'd go visist if they have an exceptional roller coaster.

I know some of you have had exceptional Vacations and if you could recommend a place I'd apareciate it, thank you.

Disregarding where you live, what city in the United States could you visit many times and never get tired of? For me, I loved New Orleans. The city has so much life and history intertwined and even though there were tourist traps, for the most part people are friendly. It's like a different world, but very inviting at the same time.

I'm going to be at Disney this weekend with my wife who is a HUGE Bears fan and she wants to take 3 hours out of her day to watch the Bears game. Does anybody know if there is a good spot to watch the game from in Epcot? We could also got to any of the other parks to watch it as well, so if a place at MK or AK or MGM is good, that's ok too. My wife and I are celebrating our 6th anniversary this coming weekend and have made reservations in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. We visit the area about once per year, but we usually do the same old stuff (walk through Gatlinburg, drive through some of the Great Smoky Mtn. Nat'l Park, see a show or two, etc.). I was just wondering if anybody has found anything really interesting in this area for adults to do other than the shows, shopping, and park. If you like the shows, which one do you think is the best? Any restaurants that you wouldn't want to miss out on? (Personally, we have to visit the Apple Barn restaurant every time we go!) Disney World
Epcot, or
MGM Studios?
We went to Disney World and MGM briefly when our kids were young. The rides at Disney didn't seem all that exciting to us although the kids liked it. MGM seemed more for kids too. Is Epcot more adult entertainment. I only ask because I doubt I can afford to do more than one of them.

We're going to Vegas in a couple weeks. My brother is really into Hunter S. Thompson and Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. Does Circus Circus still have that rotating carousel bar from the movie? If you know of anything else we could do at Circus Circus or Vegas in general that is related to Hunter S. Thompson or the book feel free to add your info.

P.S. We are not staying at Circus Circus, we're staying in a condo near the MGM.

I've heard that there are cheap packages available if you're willing to take a red-eye flight on Friday and leave on the red-eye on Sunday night. I don't know where to find these kind of deals though. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm going to my friend's wedding in April, and never have been to Indiana. Planning on staying at a hotel in Indianapolis and driving to Marion for the wedding. What is the estimated driving distance from Indianapolis to Marion? Also, if you have any suggestions on other cities to stay in other than Marion that have a decent driving time, 30 mins or less would be very helpful to me!
