I'm going to my friend's wedding in April, and never have been to Indiana. Planning on staying at a hotel in Indianapolis and driving to Marion for the wedding. What is the estimated driving distance from Indianapolis to Marion? Also, if you have any suggestions on other cities to stay in other than Marion that have a decent driving time, 30 mins or less would be very helpful to me!

It'll take longer than 30 mintues....You'd be better off to drive to Anderson and get a room there....Anderson is about 1 hour from Indy...and Marion is about 20-30 minutes south
of Anderson.
Or, why don't you get a room in Marion...it's a large enough city, there are some nice hotel's there too.....
You can go onto Yahoo maps, click driving directions, enter both cities...and get the approximate miles from each place.....

Marion is a good choice, it's about 1 hour and a half by car from Indianapolis. You could try Anderson, which is at only 45 mins from Indianapolis. In Anderson, there's quite a few places where you could stay: super8, Holiday Inn, Quality Inn etc.

From downtown Indy to Marion is about 80 miles. That's a pretty long drive. It would probably take you about an hour and twenty minutes. Anderson, Indiana is a nice area and would cut your driving distance down to about 40 miles. Anderson is right off of I-69 so it wouldn't be out of your way either. Check out http://maps.yahoo.com/ it will allow you to enter the names of towns and see an interactive map. Very helpful for planning trips. I hope this helps. Enjoy your trip to the Hoosier state! :D
