We're taking our 3 kids to DC for our summer vacation this year. Does anyone know of a good safe hotel to stay at that's under $200 per night? We already know what we'll be doing once we get there (Smithsonian, monuments, The Mall and such) but can't decide if we should stay in the city so we can walk to everything or stay out of town a bit and take the Metro in. I've been on the web searching but I don't trust the hotels description anymore after being disappointed before. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I am visiting a friend in Connecticut and would like to go up to boston for a day. Would like ideas of daytime touristy things to do. A very boston like dinner. And some fun nightlife. (not too young a crowd for the nightlife.... we are two 30 year olds). Also... this is happening in February... could be cold... Any advice would be greatly appreciated

1)is it dark 6 months and light 6 month over the whole state or just part of it...
2)what kinda of wild animals have you seen there...are they a nosince...
3)what kinda stores are there... how good are the vegables(like can you get good corn on the cob ect.)

My family-myself, husband, and 3 girls ages 4,4,and 7-are stopping in New Orleans for the day/night on our way to Disneyworld. Is there anything that we should not miss while we are there? Any recommendations for restaraunts and tours. Also, are there any campgrounds or would a hotel be better?
