I don't live in Boston only visited.

But I can honestly say that it was one of my better experiences. I found people to be genuinely friendly & helpful. The city seemed cleaned and pretty lively. I have had clam chowder before but never actually knew how good it was until I had it out in the east coast!

I am of Hispanic decent and have travel to a few cities where I still experience discrimination, this city has none of that! I enjoy History and this place was filled with historic landmarks. I stayed a week but I think I needed more time to see other things I might have missed.

I truly enjoyed my visit to Boston!

Boston has everything a big city should have, and, for a city with limited land, "The Hub" or "Beantown" as it is affectionately called is still growing in a major way. Rarely, but also called an "Athens of the East", the area's population grows by over 100,000 students every fall because of the large number of popular Colleges and Universities in the immediate area (Tufts, M.I.T, Boston College, Harvard, etc..). One of the first cities in the U.S., Boston has over 3 centuries of history and an important "colonial flavor" marked by cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill and the local Fanuel Hall Marketplace. There are also important ethnic neighborhoods such as Chinatown, the North End (Italian) and the South End (Irish), along with every other ethnic group you can imagine. You can reach Boston by plane (Logan International Airport), train (South Station and the MBTA subway), boat, or automobile (Rte 95, 93, 90 and the Mass Turnpike). There are large financial, theatre, and shopping districts, as well as great hotels and night life, top hospitals and many fine dining establishments. Boston is a great place for the tourist to visit, with the Boston Aquarium, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science to name a few well known sites. And don't forget that Boston is the center of Red Sox Nation with Fenway ( The Green Giant) right in its backyard (The Back Bay). Boston is within an hour or two of just about any four season activity you could name (skiing, swimming, boating, hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, etc...)

I would describe Boston as a big city with everything you could want, and then some.

Boston has some of the best universities and hospitals in the country.

BTW - most people who live and work in Boston were not raised in Boston. I've worked there for almost 5 years, and there's only a handful of ppl I work with that are originally from MA!

I grew in a town right outside of Boston. It is a great place to site see because there is a lot of history. It is also a great place to travel to because Boston is actually a pretty small city and easy to get around by taking the T (subway). I would not suggest driving considering they are changing the roadways/highways pretty much everyday!

We live in Syracuse, New York. My husband is waiting for a lung transplant that will be performed at Mass. General. As far as I'm concerned, Boston is the best place on earth!

A small city with a lot of history. Don't drive; Take the subway "T' or walk. The subway closes early and cabs are not as easy to find as in NYC, but can be found in areas near south/north station. There are smug people here, but most of these are trust fund babies (or adults) that attend college here. There are plenty of down to earth people here, trust me.

Smug, pompous, self righteous, uncivilized. I went there early 2006 and every night I saw at least one fight. Twice someone tried to pick a fight with me. Also, no one there can speak proper English. They butcher the language to the point of embarrassment. Considering the great universities in that town and state, they sure are stupid.

From an historical perspective, it's a wonderful city.
