That would depend on what you did for a living. I am a truck driver and drive about 3000 miles a week, which is about 156,000 miles a year. Multiply that by more than 20 years and I have already driven over 3 million miles just in a tractor trailer. That is not counting my time in my pick up truck when I am not at work. An average person drives about 15,000 miles yearly...times that by a lifetime and go figure.

Good question.
Don't know if there is an answer ... it would vary so much.

A person living and working in a small town might averrage 3,000 miles a year, while a person living and working in a large city will average twice that at least.

A person living in a rural area and working in a city or town a ways away can easily average 20,000 miles a year (as I used to). And that was just for work/school. not including weekend travel and holidays.

I would guess a good average is 12,000 miles a year, then multiply that by a person who drives from age 16 to age 85 or older, and you have close to a million miles.
