One word answer: DISNEY. It's not cheap, but it's the best for that age group and you will be pampered beyond belief.

I have taken several cruises and some have been loaded with children. If the cruise line is doing a good job (and every one I have taken has) then you will very seldom realize there are children on board. Every cruise line I have taken has loads of things planned every day for the children to do. On my last cruise this past September, the lounges were set up for different age children through out the day. Then at night they were for the adults.
Yes, we have seen kids at the pools and at meals but as a daily thing, children getting in our way or bothering us at all, it never has happened to us. We are grandparents raising two very young grandchildren and we notice children where ever we go and they have never been a problem on any cruise or cruise line.
So look for a good deal and book passage for the whole crew. You all will have a blast.

A cruise can be an awesome vacation for kids. Even more "grownup" lines like Princess have age-appropriate kids clubs for children your age. Of course Disney is the ideal cruise line for kids, but it that's too expensive, the Caribbean is always a great cruise destination for the eastern halves of the US / Canada with other cruise lines. A word about Carnival -- the two Carnival cruises I've been on were perhaps a little too party-centric for my taste for smaller kids. Lots of drinking. I've never been on Royal Caribbean but it may be worth checking out. You may also want to try Club Med - Sandpiper in Florida as a vacation alternative.

Cruising is my favorite way to travel. I highly recommend Royal Caribbean. It has a great adventure program for kids that allow them to spend time with other children their age and the staff is excellent. The cruise itself is wonderful. I would also suggest a caribbean cruise with one of the larger ships either the voyager series that includes, voyager, adventure, mariner, explorer or navigator or the newest ships freedom and liberty of the seas (not till june 2007) these are the biggest ships on the sea and have lots to do. I would not recommend carnival while a cheaper options i felt it is compared to a dennys while royal caribbean is more of a mortons steak house. Whatever you choose though you can not go wrong. You may contact me with any more questions

After a while life becomes about quality and not quantity -- We are often willing to accept this reasoning from a 90 yr old but rarely do we want it even spoken let alone heard in any sort of real way by a 13 yr old -- Chemo --- is a poison -- it makes people very ill and do not let the doctors lie to you and tell you otherwise It is meant to almost kill you --- The theory is that the poison will kill the cancerous cells and not you --- The rates of injection therefore are balanced between the maximum they can get away with and not killing the patient For very weakened people those rates are low -- for people with non aggressive cancers or who were caught early those rates are also low But if your cancer is aggressive and your relatively healthy --- the dose goes up and up ----------------- How long will the boy live without the chemo vs with the chemo and is that exchange worth while in the boys head as well as his parents ? And is that perception based on accurate knowledge of the facts as they are known and presented ? Hard topic .... lots of places to fall down -- But I am uncomfortable with allowing the State the powers to override the person -- I have the right to refuse medical treatment -- I do not need an explanation you or the government approves of to exercise that right I wish to keep that right intact As I said --- lots of places to fall down The last thing I want is the government or anyone else to be able to take my right of refusal away because they did not like the reasoning I offered up I do not have to like or agree with you --- I just have to respect your decision to exercise your rights when and how you see fit The names you call me after I leave the room --- is one thing --- but telling me no that is not a good enough reason to exercise your rights is quite another

Try a cruise down the Nile from the high dam in Aswan to Cairo. Fabulous trip, endless sights to see, great food and lots for all the family including the last night fancy dress ball.

The carnival fun ships are really great for family cruises.
They have 24 hour dining, free room service, lots of options for what to do at the ports of call and tons of kid friendly stuff. Many have arcades, kid pools, play rooms, and movie theathers.
I went on one in high school with a friend, and there were lots of kids. They all seemed to be having a blast.
For parents, there's fine dining, show and musical productions, a spa, shopping, exercise deck...
They're affordable, too.

Try the Disney Cruises or something like that. They're REALLY family friendly - and they offer things for the grownups too. If you don't want to do Disney specifically, ask a travel agent for a comperable cruise.
