I am considering moving to Austin, Texas for a variety of reasons, mostly around quality of life. I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area and am experiencing the high traffic and high cost of living (price of home-ownership, electricity, gas) among other things..and am searching for a place where both are lower. I love the Bay Area weather, but have heard Austin's weather is comparably mild, esp in the Hill Country. And of course, the fact that there's no state income tax is a definite plus...but it's offset by the high property taxes.

i know it may sound shallow, but ive never been out to phoenix day in my life. im thinking about making that move from east cost to west coast. how is the job market out there. i work in the mkt/advertsing field now. also what about cost of living? im coming from an area where rent for a decent place can cost you from 900 on up to 1500-1600.

Me and my fiance are from the UK and planning our honeymoon in SF and Vegas in July. Our wedding guests are contributing towards our honeymoon activities via a website service but i have to think of lots of imaginative things to do for people 'to purchase' us ie meal at stratosphere, catamaran sunset cruise. On Sunday Nov. 12th I need to meet someone at the Greenbelt Station in MD at 7:45 am. I'm in NYC and don't know how to get there since I don't have a car. Does anyone know the cheapest way through public transportation? An online search brings up too many links without the info I need.

I've neve been to NYC so I am nervous about driving, but the train ride seems so long and I have to transfer wich also makes me nervous. I am goig to see a 2hr show at 5:00pm and it will be dark by the time I get out. What is the best way to make this enjoyable.
