i know it may sound shallow, but ive never been out to phoenix day in my life. im thinking about making that move from east cost to west coast. how is the job market out there. i work in the mkt/advertsing field now. also what about cost of living? im coming from an area where rent for a decent place can cost you from 900 on up to 1500-1600.

I lived in Phoenix some 16 years. Black/latino population is concentrated in the west side of town with a heavy latino population in east Mesa. I don't see how that's really an issue unless you're scared of black people.

which is just plain ridiculous and on the racist side.

Real estate prices are normally very good but because the housing sector is down in the general US prices shoul be a little higher but nowehere in comparison with places like LA and NYC.

Phoenix is a pretty dope place for people who love dry heat, good food with latino flare and the world's best sunsets.

Yes, there are black people all over Phoenix, a lot of Black people in Phoenix live on the South Side. The job market is good and you can get a nice place to rent for about 1200 if it is a house. a nice apt. will run you about 800 a month. Cost of living is ok, i dont really know what things go for on the East Coast. Good luck!

Black Population In Arizona

Phoenix is blowing up right now! Yes there are black people out here, but probably not as much as on the EC. Job market is killer right now, so is cost of living compared to the EC. Rent for a nice house (3bed,2bath, decent neighborhood) I would say is $1200 to $1600. Get ready for 60degree winters... but also 115degree summers!!

There are lots of Blacks in Phoenix. This city now is huge with urban sprawl. Cost of living is just slightly less than what you pay. Lots of jobs as new companies are always moving into Phoenix.

Do NOt move to Phoenix if:

You dont like VERY hot summers 118 to 122 degrees.
You dont like people, they are everywhere
You dont like communting, the city is huge now
You dont like the desert and dry climate
You dont like wind
You dont like a place that is overcrowed 24/7
You cant deal with crime

Do Move if:

You love warm winters and hot summers
You like being a short drive to the mountains
You like flat land that is all desert
You enjoy huge cities
You love arts and indian culture
You like being close to California

I grew up in Arizona and lived in Phoenix a time. It was quite awhile ago when the population was still managable. I love the desert but the hot climate for 6 mos is unbearable.

girl..there are more black people now then there was 3 years ago. which still isn't much. I'm from philly and you saw all types of people there I still haven't seen here. LOL

Phoenix is cool. But you should visit for a week in the summer and then make your decision.

the job market is great...if you like corp america. apts are cheap in lots of areas and expensive in others. i got a nice 1 b 1bath apt for 600. and the neighborhood is great.

well hope that helps good luck...but seriously..you need to visit for like a week in the summer. if you survive that then welcome to az

There are. Found out from friends that lived there or still do. I've never been, but that was the spot I most wanted to live. I am originally from Harrisburg, PA and I just love the Phoenix weather. Good choice.

Yes there are and they are all over Az. As for the job market it is better in Phoenix and Tucson than anywhere in Az.
