My husband and I are trying to find a nice hotel (3 star and up) in Monterey for the first week in December for a second honeymoon. Ideally, we want a place with a fireplace and spa services. If we could get couples massage in our room we'd be in heaven. As for the location, we need something that is walking distance from restaurants, shopping, maybe a movie theater. We're both military and forced to live in Florida (we're originally from California) so this is our first vacation together since 2003. We need to relax and want to do it somewhere nice. Any suggestions?

I'm getting an apartment but can't move in for a little over a month. I thought I might take this opportunity to see the United States a little but would like to do it as cheaply as possible. Anyone else ever do this or know where to go?

Does anyone know any good neighborhoods easily assesable by the DART train line? I'm looking to move out to Dallas and I heard it can be very dangerous. I don't have a car so I am going to have to take the train. Also, are there any interesting/unique/fun/hip/safe neighborhoods along the DART line? Thanks.

OK Here's the deal. I've been going to a friends house each year for superbowl and I'm finished with that. I'm now looking to go anywhere in the US that can provide a comfy place to watch the game with others who don't mind Booze and some fowl laungage every so often (directed at the game) I want something like Vegas but I don't know any good spots and what they offer and I'm thinking AC but again the same problem. Maybe someone out there can provide some detailed info on where I can go to watch the game. Thanks. By the way don't let expense hold you back from good places to go!

i was speaking with a woman whose husband works for the MTA and he says that if you don't pay, they can't kick you off. i was wondering if any other new yorkers had heard this.

she says as long as you're not being disruptive, or making a scene, they have no grounds to ask you to leave.

say, i lost my wallet or something. i mean, the trains already moving when they check your tickets.

lemme know if anyone has any experience with this.

The jet stream direction should be faster, right? When I fly from L.A. to Boston it's always faster from West to East. This Hawaii flight goes against this theory. Thanks for any comments you have!

We're planning a week-end adventure in our small RV. We're headed about 6 hours away from our home. This is short notice. Where do we find the tourist centers or how can we find something to see as to make plans in advance?

I am driving cross country from Boston to San Diego because I am moving to San Diego. Some friends are coming along for the ride who have to get back to work in Boston by a certain time. We leave Oct. 21 and we need to get to San Diego no later than 10/28.

We are driving the southern route I believe, going from 84 to 81 to 40 all the way. How many miles/hours should we drive each day to make that deadline but also stay safe?

I will also have a U-Haul trailer attached to my car so can only go so fast. I would also like to sleep each night. Also, should we reserve motel rooms each morning or wait until we get to our destination each night? Will the motels charge if we cancel within 24 hours?

Any advice about this and road trips in general would be extremely helpful. Thank you so much!
