Many airlines offer their best deals if you purchase 21, 14, or 7 days in advance, so I would do it before the end of the month. There are occasionally last minute online specials, but that's a gamble. If you're vacationing, you can often get the best price by purchasing car and hotel together. If you're just purchasing an airline ticket, I would check the major consolidators such as Orbitz, Travelocity and Expedia, and also check southwest.com and jetblue.com. If you see a good deal on the first 3 I mentioned traveling on a specific airline, I would check that airline's website too as they are usually a few bucks cheaper since they don't tack on a service fee (ie aa.com).

The best time to purchase these tickets was about 5 months ago. Sorry, but you are looking at Thanksgiving travel and I don't think at this point 1 month out you are looking for "best deals", but reasonable prices that is IF you can get it. To Florida for Thanksgiving, I highly doubt it!
I'm sure this isn't the answer you are looking for, but it is better than saying a bunch of sites like other posters only for you to go round and round in circles with endless online hours.
Holiday travel is huge! Thanksgiving in particular is very big especially for families, next to as high as spring break travel. I'm guessing because you are asking on here you have done some searching already and finding the rates are pretty high and are looking for possible other alternatives for good prices?
The longer you wait, they WILL go up in price not down.
Good Luck to you, but depending on what you are trying to stay around you might not find anything near to what you are looking for. Just remember travel is changing, you need to have advance purchase. Last min. deals are going out the window.....

I purchased my tickets three weeks in advance and got an excellent rate of $157.10 round trip from Orlando, FL to Kansas City, MO. Flew Southwest Airlines.

Seats are disapperaing and pricing is resonably good. Don't rely on last minute purchasing right now. Awful close to the holiday's.
