Try using a travel agent. In 8 years none of my clients didn't "suddenly" not have a ticket.

Call the airline you are booking it with, have the flight number and time date ect in front of you, tell them you want that flight, sometimes you call it can be higher but just in case have all the info in front of you.

Call the airlines and buy them. This way you know what seats you will definitely be in too!

You probably missed to fill something in, they are kind of picky that way.
