My parents' 25th wedding anniversary is coming up next summer, and my sister and I would like to get them a trip to Hawaii, where they have always wanted to go. I've heard Maui is one of the best places to go... but I need some advice! We're thinking about getting an airfaire/hotel package. I currently live in Los Angeles, but I'm contemplating a move across the country around the New York area. My boyfriend lives in Hoboken, NJ. It's very expensive and clustered, so my question is, is there any areas within an hour or two of that general area that is cheaper and nicer to live? I grew up in the country so I wouldn't wanna be in the city all the time. Any thoughts and/or suggestions? Thank you so much!

I am flying into JFK in the morning and going on a cruise later in the evening. My husband and I want to tour NY during the day and don't want to have all of our luggage to worry about. I am headed to NYC for the first time with my family and was wondering where is the best place to stay that is between Statue of liberty and Times square? My Family and I would like to see ground zero and everything famous we can. I was thinking of driving in from Philadelphia but I can also take the train to Penn station but I didnt know if everything was in walking distance? People keep telling me to stay in NJ across the bridge due to its cheaper and you can take a bus into the city?
