Last time I went was 2 years ago and the weather was beautiful. The last day we were there it got cold and I had to put on a winter jacket
I would like to know how the weather usually is in December?

Best way to know is to look up the history for the area on the website wunderground.com
Find your city.
THen you can get current info and midway down the screen there's a place to look up historical weather details based on specified dates.

It really depends if the week you are going happens to be the one week of winter we get down here. Prepare for mid-40's to mid 70's. Definitely have a jacket for the night time walks on the beach. South Padre is beautiful anytime of year.

Just bring a jacket & a sweater if you need to layer to stay warm. Our winters are mild. I agree w/checking the weather history at the site mentioned above. I had the daily weather sent to my Blackberry for Australia & New Zealand - it really got me revved up for the trip.

Windy and cool -- 50s and 60s with some wind. You could have rain showers, also. I'd bring a windbreaker and a sweater.
