we are going to vegas for our honeymoon, we have booked a room at the plaza. i read in a review that if you give the receptionist $20 they will give you a nicer room. does anyone know if this is true. we are from the uk so would feel embarrassed asking for this, any suggestions???

Personally, I've had a hard time here. I admit I haven't been everywhere, or met everyone from the city, but most of the people I have met are rude, the cops are brutal, and there seems to be this "I-and-Me" complex people have here. Am I wrong? Do you agree or disagree?

I've just returned from Overseas (Combat Deployments), Missed Christmas 3 years in a row and want to take my family to a Christmas in Colorado (or elsewhere in the Rockies). my wife and i have abridal suite resereved at hampton inns and suites on amelia island.hotel says i cant use points to pay for the room.ima gold level honors member and it says points can be redeemed for free nights.i would have been upgraded anyway to this room-embassy suites in new york did it with absolutely no problem-are they being too restrictive or reading the honors rules wrong?

No particular reason or prospects there, but I enjoy moving every few years to a different part of the US. I've never been to the Pacific Northwest, and the Chamber of Commerce stuff makes the place sound interesting, but that's not too surprising.
