I've just returned from Overseas (Combat Deployments), Missed Christmas 3 years in a row and want to take my family to a Christmas in Colorado (or elsewhere in the Rockies). Looking for very high level of service / Resort type. Christmas to remember and I know I'll have to pay extra for it. HELP!!!!

First let me say Thank You for your service and commitment to our country, and welcome home!!! I am originally from Colorado. Personally, I think Crested Butte is the prettiest in the winter. Best skiing, fun atmosphere and not as crowded. I would start by picking a mountain location and go from there. There are PLENTY of upscale lodges in most of those locations now. You are smart to start bookings now too. If you decide you want a more urban feel, Denver is fabulous at Christmas, the Westin Tabor Center in historic downtown Denver is wonderful!! Enjoy your holiday, and welcome home!! Don't forget to tell them you are military, not always, but sometimes there are adjusted rates for you :)

You may want to shop around online in the Aspen area. I understand it is top notch (lots of celebs go there and live there). You have choices like condos, houses and luxury resorts. If you tell the place you pick your story (talk to the manager) you may even get a courtesy discount. It sounds like a great idea, I am sure you 'll have a wonderful time. Enjoy!

I would suggest you come to deer valley or Sundace ski resort towns in utah. There are both high class spots. We know how to treat visitors in utah. How else do you think we were able to pull off the Olympics.
