I'd like to be able to take the AMHS from Skagway to Valdez when I'm in Alaska in June. I've looked at the AMHS website, but can't figure out how to do this. It looks like I'd have to change ferries, but I can't figure out where. Does anyone know what route I'd have to take to do this? Where would I have to change ferries? Thanks.

I am moving to Los Angeles in August from Sandusky, Ohio. What would be the cheapest route on getting all of my stuff moved to LA? I don't have a WHOLE LOT of stuff, but I do believe I couldn't fit it all in my small car. If the cheapest route is to rent a truck, I do have friends who are going to make the journey with me who could drive. I would have them drive and put some of my stuff in there, but it seems to be easier just to rent a truck and have them drive and have me drive my car.

I'm in my 20s - I HATE drive (and I suck at it!) and I want to relocate to a city where I don't need a car. I'm from NJ and i've never lived without a car - it's looking like I might head to chicago - so to people without a car, what's it like? what city did you live carless in - what is your biggest hassle, etc. any advice...

I am trying to get a trip going with two of my friends (we are all guys) for a night of fun in LV on a Sunday night. We have quote from a VIP host that will get us table, bottle at Pure, VIP entrance, whisk us by the lines, Limo service. Followed by VIP service with bar tab at Scores, includes the VIP's gratuity. All for $1245.00. So is this a good deal? or totally sucky? Am I getting ripped off? Anyone recommend anything better? I have read JackColton.com also. Please help.

my biggest fear ever is elevators. okk so heres the story...i went to the beach in august. and we stayed at this really nice place that had only been opened for like a month and a half. well i was gunna take my bro down to the pool cuz thats were everyone was but my boyfriend and gpa. well my sis was gunna come up but decided not too so i had to either climb 4 flites of stairs or take the elevator cause we were on the 12 floor. well i got in and got bt the 3rd and 4th and it bounced and stopped. at first the 911 button wouldnt work and finally i got it to. i was paniking big time and i started freaking out. i was screaming and my bf heard me on the 12th floor. it took them a little over 45 minutes to get me out. talk about scary. i ddint have nothing with me. that was about 5 months ago and recently ive been having really bad flashbacks. is this normal?? what should i do?

I'm trying to plan a trip to Walt Disney World in February and have discovered that the time I want to go is something called President's Week. The days I'm planning are Thursday Feb 21 to Tuesday Feb 22 (or Wednesday Feb 23), which apparently only covers a few days of President's Week.
Naturally, I have no idea what this is and what this means in terms of people being off work and schools being out. Are schools out during this week, do people get the week off? What's the deal with it?
Last time I went to Disney in February, it was dead (was the weekend and few days after the Superbowl was in Jacksonville), so I'm hoping to get the same light to not-so-heavy crowds.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

New York City Councilman Tony Avella recently proposed legislation to ban horse-drawn carriages after another death of a carriage horse in September and an audit by the New York City Comptroller that revealed mistreatment of horses (no shade or water on hack line; horses standing in puddles of water and waste; hot asphalt in summer, etc) and irregularities in birth certificates submitted by owners, leading the Comptroller to question whether horses are being double shifted or whether owners are using one license for multiple horses. A few weeks ago, carriage horse stable owner Cornelius Byrne was arrested for allegedly bribing an undercover investigator for overlooking 7 violations at his stables. One of these violations was for displaying the same license on two horses.

The ASPCA has changed its position on horse-drawn carriages and now supports a ban. It has been enforcing NYC regulations, and now feels that this industry can't be operated humanely in New York City.
