Going to see Bad Boy Bill at Vinyl?

There aren't really any hotels in walking distance. All the hotels downtown are rather expensive but would be ideal. I suggest a corporate hotel in the Cherry Creek area on Colorado Blvd as they are cheaper (about $65 per night, whereas downtown hotels will be $120 per night) and you can easily take a cab from there to the clubs on Broadway. Or, there are some total dive independatnt hotels on Colfax near Broadway, but they may be sketchy and full of hookers.

I would just use yahoo travel and look up hotels in Denver. Look for something either downtown or in Cherry Creek/Colorado Blvd area. Avoid hotels in the suburbs/tech center. You're probably going to have to take a cab anyway and it will be between $10-$15 each way from a Cherry Creek hotel or $5-$10 from a downtown hotel.

It all depends on what part of Denver you want to stay in (downtown, midtown or suburbs). I stayed in the hotel VQ which is located in the suburbs right next to the Invesco Field stadium. I knew it was a bit of a walk to get to downtown (1/2 mile) but the walk is enjoyable is it takes in the local park, aquarium, etc and if you get a bit tired then there is the free shuttle bus that goes up /down 16th street from the train station to almost the Capitol building. I booked it as it was a reasonable price and that you would get a great view of the Denver skyline from the bar on the 14th floor.

I don't know about near clubs and bars, or inexpensive, but check out Capitol Hill Mansion. It's a bed and breakfast, very romantic, NICE rooms in a variety of price ranges. It's just east of downtown as I recall.

Good luck!
