i was playing around on google maps and came across a weird thing in Texas/New mexico. please look at this and tell me what it is. go to maps.google.com and type in muleshoe texas. please tell me what all those weird circles are!!

They are round because of the way they are watered. Huge sprinklers with a set center are rotated through the field, only part that gets green gets the water.

With more and more water restrictions and droughts some areas are planting field in circular patterens for the irrigation purpose.The irrigators move in 360 degree circles so better use of the water.
Just my opinion but that is what it looks like.

Those are crop fields. I don't know the purpose of them being in a circle like that. I have seen the same thing when flying over Eastern Washington state.
