There are no special dangers. Kenya is one of the most stable countries in East Africa. There has never been a civil war or coup attempts. Actually, yesterday there were elections which went without big problems.
There has been a terrostist attack in 1998 on a US target, because Kenya supports the West. But nobody is going around London or Madrid these days, even though there were terrorist attacks there too.
Just watch out a bit for petty crime (pickpockets etc.) and if you want to be really safe, don't go out alone after dark (taxis are very safe after dark, though). Also take care what you eat, and where. And use tablets and a mosquito net against malaria (only really necessary in more rural areas).
More information about safety and related issues is at http://www.kenya-advisor.com.

kenya is safe. i live there. we had elections on 27th, went well and we should be announcing our new president soon. counting of votes is still ongoing. If you are flying into nairobi, you can take a domestic flight to mombasa either using the national carrier kenya airways, other domestic airlines or charter a light aircraft as well. we have lots of alternatives. wish you all the best

The problem with peaple is that they simply conclude that if you are going to Africa you are putting yourself in trouble. It maybe the case, but not so for Kenya.I am having a holiday in Mombasa enjoying the sun.And despite thw fact that we are smack in the middle of elections, nobody has bothered me and the people atre so friendly and ready to help.Dont let people stop you from having a time ofyour life.Hope you have a good time there.
