I'm tired of the life here so this coming year I want to plan to move to the East coast hopefully through school in NC. I'm a single mom and live in Long Beach, CA now. Any tips on the change for my 8 year old and moving in general?

I am taking my cruise in January of 2008, and the cruise papers say disembarkation is at 7AM. But, when do I actually have to be off the ship by? Can I stay for breakfast? Do the restaurants stay open? How about room service?

I am planing to go vacation in L.A. for 2 days in the New Years.
I would like to find a hotel near shopping centers, or historical themes, such as Hollywood walk of fame. Theme park is not a consideration this time.

I will be traveling to london and dublin in feb and want to know if I should:

1. Convert my money before I leave (and if so, at a bank or retail establishment?)
2. Convert it overseas (at a bank, airport, or where is the cheapest?)
3. Bring travellers checks in us dollars and break them as I spend them (can you even do that?)
4. Try to put as much as I can on a credit card (is there no conversion fee usually?)

I am doing a whirlwind tour with a friend. We fly into London for the weekend, thinking about taking the Eurostar to Paris, spend four days in Paris and then I have to head to Vienna...where I will meet up with another friend, but also fly home. I don't have a car b/c I am unable to drive due to a devastating mental condition & I don't want to live IN Denver but since I won't have a car I have to take RTD which doesn't go everywhere. I lived in honolulu, HI from age of 15-17, then my parents decided to move to New York. I now have a masters degree and will move back o hawaii. I can't see myself living anywhere else. We used to live in Hawaii Kai, which is now SOOOO expensive, over 700k for a house!!! what a difference 8 years can make. Does anyone know where I can get a decent house for 400-500 k?
Also, ladies, do you know of any places on the island where i can get my nails/ hair done for cheap? mahalo!
