How much does it cost to travel from Amsterdam to Prague on a train? Is there cheaper ways to travel there? Also, is Prague generally cheap, for instance, how much is a beer at a bar?

SkyEurope has flights for as low as 42.66 euro between Amsterdam and Prague. I took the train the other way in August - it was about a 12 hour trip for roughly 75 euro with a train change in Berlin.

There are a lot of budget airlines operating in Europe that sometimes are cheaper than the trains. A good source for identifying flights between a given pair of cities is:

Another source for cheap flights is: http://www.skyscanner.net/eur/?redirectu...

For Amsterdam, you can also check for flights from Eindhoven or Rotterdam which are well-connected to Amsterdam by train and shuttle bus service. However, the budget flights for Prague are all out of Amsterdam itself.

My husband and I go to Prague every year for about 3 weeks. If you stay away from the tourist traps and wander a little further out from the main part of town, you can eat and drink very cheaply. You would want to eat in the neighborhoods, whee the locals go. This is where you will find traditional Czech food and cheap beer. Not sure about the travel part because the Amsterdam-Prague part of our trip is included in the cost from Boston.

Prague is a truly wonderful city and very affordable. I hope you get to visit. You can take tour buses from Prague to all the main castles.

Amsterdam can be rough, lots of people go there to party because of their laws on drugs and prostitution but there are wonderful museums like the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum there are beautiful tulip festivals it is not expensive in Amsterdam (like any where else it depends on where you stay and what you eat) what "real" experiences do you want? there is a wide range of things in the Netherlands, Amsterdam is a bit of an odd ball in the country, if you want an Amsterdam experience that normally involves partying if you want a Dutch experiences check out other areas of Holland

There are trains that go from Ams. to Prag.
7.03 pm to 9.18 am next day for $75.00.
I'd recommend getting a couchette so you'll be comfortable and can sleep. That's about $27 extra.

I checked Jan. 25 since I didn't know your dates, but you can search for your date if it's less than 60 days in advance.
