China announced that they intend to produce and sell commercial aircraft. After all the safety recalls on Chinese products would you feel safe on a airplane made in China?

Talk about safety ratings: what about the tires that were safety rated for the US and still had to be recalled? There is big difference between making parts for overseas companies under their strict guidance and making them under their own safety standards.

Yes! All the hype about unsafe toys is overrated! Any American newspaper will sell space for the right price! The overblown gossip about Chinese products such as toys, tires, toothpaste, and baby milk is ridiculous! Any educated person knows that the American labor unions are buying and placing negative propaganda in the newspapers because they are trying to protect what is left of their job security. Have you ever met someone who had a child die from unsafe toys? No, but you have met plenty of folks that have become sick from eating that fast food crap from MacDonald's, KFC and Taco Bell. Any person with the mentality of a peasant will believe this propaganda! Wake up and realize that world is changing at an enormous and alarming pace. The couch potatoes will go the same route as the dinosaurs! Anyway, your comments are rather entertaining! Happy New Years!

Bombardier, Boeing, ATR, Cessna, BA, Embraer, Airbus, Fairchild, etc. All major aircraft manufacturers had critical safety recalls over the years.

For cars, most if not all major manufacturers has critical safety recalls: Ford, Chrysler, Daimler, GM...

Tires: Firestone, Atlas, Continental, Michelin, etc. Most of these companies had major safety recalls.

Most of these recalls are for products that were NOT made in China.

Food: Jack in the Box, McDonald, KFC. A quick read of Fast Food Nation is enough to prevent anyone who is sane to eat in any fast-food chain in America...

You can draw your own conclusions...

I agree with k155000 and soothsay.

Just to let people who scream "China's lead toy!" know: 80% of fault goes to MATTEL, the US toy company. MATTEL had apologised openly to China for allowing them to take the rap. The recall of those toys had NOTHING to do with a failure of Chinese manufacturing but rather stemmed from Mattel’s own FLAWED DESIGN, said the report.

If you have to insist on continuing the untruthful finger pointing. Fine. Giving me thumbs down for reporting a truth. Go ahead. Truth still need to be said. If in doubt, check the link below.

When it is time for us to die, we can even die in the safest place on earth. The ground opens and swallow you up when you are sleeping on your bed, or the tornedo blows your house off, or the hurricane, typhoon or a car might crash into you when you are at home watching tv or a tree falls on you as you are walking.

I dont worry about how i would die. I flew in China Airline planes many times.

They are just beginning to produce planes. They have lots of tests to make before selling it.

And for high tech products, they are getting betting and better. I don't think they would send men in space with a bad shuttle.

You can't compare toys where quality control is not very sure with a plane and international control companies. It is not the same level.

"Today, more than 3,400Boeing airplanes -- one third of Boeing's world fleet -- have major parts and assemblies built in China. Examples of major parts and assemblies built for Boeing by Chinese industry include the 737 horizontal stabilizer from Shanghai Aircraft Corp., 737 vertical fin from Xian Aircraft Corp., 737 tail section modules from Shenyang Aircraft Corp., and 757 empennage and aft fuselage section from Chengdu Aircraft Corp. Have to see its technical specifications to decide. They are using other plane maker's technology and the reliability can be inferred from that.
