I'm in the Netherlands for a few months and have access to a number of amazing Belgian beers. I would like to take a few bottles home for my friends. I understand that it is fine with the TSA as long as they're in my checked baggage, but I'm worried about two things.

1. They have more alcohol than any beer I've ever seen in St. Louis; some over 11%. Are there laws restricting possession of such strong beer in the US, or just restricting its sale?

2. I don't even know what "duty" or "customs" really mean. Do I have to "declare" such items and/or pay taxes on them?

Thanks time ten.

When i went to these countries, I see huge cranes everywhere. These countries are developing so fast..huge beautiful apartments..stores..shopping malls...roads and subways systems...their economies are just booming..with tons of jobs..even though its low pay...look at Dubai and their beeautiful palm islands and that record tall building...why is the US so lagging behind? I live in MA and our buildings are so old...and our subway system is just embarrassing compared to Asian subways systems...for example MTR system in hong kong...In china theres like at least one KFC and Mcdonald being built and opened every day..thats rediculous...In the city that I live...I already seen 2 KFC and a Mcdonald go out of buisness and close down...ehhhh kinda pathetic...can anyone explain? or add

I am looking for two or three Irish 1 Pound coins for a project. I'm interested in the version minted from 1990 to 1999, with the Deer on the front and the harp on the back. Since Ireland switched to the Euro, they've become impossible to find. Does anyone have any ideas?

We are going on a big group vacation next summer and we are getting a beach house and I want to take my fishing gear, but my husband says we would have to get a fishing license in that state first. I'm not sure how to go about finding information.

Take any amount of money in exchange for your current spouse? For example, if someone said, you don't look happy, here's $10,000 to leave your mate, would you?

So, how much would it take? Would you even entertain such an offer? And I'm not talking about an "Indecent Proposal" situation either, just leaving, getting a divorce, nothing more.

The reason I ask is my alimony check just came, and I got to wondering if someone told me he was cheating on me a year earlier and gave me money, would I have taken off?

If the answer is no... what makes you say that?

Hello everyone,
I am on the search for the cheapest airfare possible from one of these three places. I don't care where we go, just as long as we fly somewhere. My mom has NEVER flown before and she is almost 50. She just wants to fly somewhere. I don't know what locations we might try to get really inexpensive airfare from one of these airports.

Thanks for your help!!

stay at a stranger's house while traveling?

In case you don't know, there are hospitality programs through which you can stay at someone's else house for free, as long as you are willing to offer accomodation to another traveller as well. (I think these are the conditions, although it is probably possible to benefit from hospitality without reciprocating it).

I ask this to check what people's expectations about this would be.

The dead line is the Eid prayer, we must pay it before that. For every member of the family 2 kilos of rice or flour. I pay the equivelant in cash, correct me if I am wrong about the amount.

Do you think 13 days is enough to make a trip over 2000 km. havana - santiago santiago-havana.
I read many travelers don’t recommend this idea as 2 weeks isn’t enough to really enjoy the places. Most of time would be spent in the bus.
What is your view on this

2. As apparently the public communication isn't the strongest in Cuba I am considering renting a car.
This would give me flexibility and independence but it's quite expensive and I guess we would miss many opportunities to meet the local people.
Do you think it makes sense to rent a car? or bus communication is good enough to plan quite reasonably without worrying to much about the schedules etc

3. Booking casa particulares. Do you think it's a better idea to book casas in advance or there are enough of them to "enter from the street". I would prefer not to book in advance as it gives more flexibility.
Any suggestions?

thanks marcin
