Flatlands Avenue is located towards the Southeastern corner of the Borough of Brooklyn. It runs parallel with Linden Boulevard, and is in between Linden Boulevard and the Belt Parkway.
I've never heard of an area in Brooklyn being referred to as the "Flatlands", but if I had to take a guess, it would be the area that I just described. The borderline between Brooklyn and Queens in the Southeast corner of Brooklyn borders the swamp area near JFK International Airport.
