I currently live in Iowa (where I'm totally unhappy), and I'm planning to move to Los Angeles in less than a month. By the way, I have no friends or family down there...I'm taking a chance for my happiness. What am I to expect once I get there? What about the job market and the safe and affordable places to live? Am I making the right desicion?

As it says really I'm hoping to visit LA next year staying a week somewhere central and then a week by the coast or near Disney - its going cost about 4k for the hotels/flights - is it worth it, is this a place for children or more adults?

Do thai people like westerners? i was there for 6 months and never heard a bad word from them or about foreigners, but it seems impossible because westerners behave appallingly when there,is there a secret code by which thai people live by to just stay quiet and just keep taking the money. I'd love to know wot goes on inside the head of the thai .

I'm starting to do research on possibly buying a small apartment home in one of these two places. Ever since I was a small girl, I have dreamed of living in Paris, but just recently I fell in love with London. I have been to both places, and think I could handle the move. I don't speak the language, but i know I could pick it up pretty quickly as I did take 2 years of French in high school (which would cover Paris). My lease is up in my current place here in Atlanta in June of 2008 so I still have some time to think about it. Any suggestions? I'm 31, so i'm old enough to do this on my own without any parental involvement...thanks.

I will be taking the train into Grand Central. From there, I need to get to Penn Plaza. Is there a subway that rubs from Grand Central right to Penn Station? Or am I better off just taking a cab? Also, I noticed that the subway systems have numbers, like 4 5 6 Does that mean that you need to take a 4, then a 5 than a 6? How does that work? I'm used to Boston's subway system. Much Easier...Red, Yellow, Blue.
