Are you talking about French or English newspaper or both. Let's not forget Canada is a bilingual country; for English I would say the Globe and Mail, it is considered the Canadian National newspaper.
For French newspaper it is "Le Journal de Montréal". It is also the largest-circulation French-language newspaper in North America.

You will get and arguement from some people, some might say the Globe and Mail and in western Canada were they are not fond of us easterners, the National Post is king, owned by CanWest Global, the Globe is an affilate of BCE the 2 biggest media mogals in Canada.
