We are travelling to Koh Chang, Thailand, (near Trat and the Cambodian border). We will be there in June and would like a bungalow on the beach on a nice, clean, quiet beach. We don't want crowds, resorts or tourist dens, just a nice chillout spot. Very basic bungalows are O.K. Thanks all.

My family consists of mom and dad ,a 17 year old guy (me), a 15 year old boy, and an 11 year old girl. My parents are thinking of going on either Carnival or Disney, but i looked at the websites and youtube vids (post your vacations for all the world to see!!!) and Carnival seems for more of an older generation, and I think Disney is just assinizing, with Mickey and friends constantly surrounding you. Royal Carribean looks perfect, but i don't know. Give me your imput, expereiences, youtube vids, etc., and be brutally honest. We need a damn vacation!!!

If we joined a rewards program and stuck to a hotel chain to be loyal with, which should it be? One with many destinations, and the rooms and facilities at most should be nice. Starwood is probably our first choice, because Westins, Sheratons, St. Regis, and W are nice. Marriott is updating with plush bedding and high-tech rooms, and they are partners with Ritz Carlton. Hiltons are nice. And Hyatt is also comfy. As far as comfort (how plush the rooms and beds are), facilities, and destinations, which one or two (for backup) would you choose?

We have 4 girls staying at the Flamingo in July... Do you think if we only had two room keys (only 'reported' 2) all 4 of us could still get into the pool if we brought our own towels?

Do they really check your key?

I was born in the states in 1975, my Me was 7 months pregnant with me when my Ba and two sister ran for the "boat". My Ba was in the South Vietnamese Navy so staying was not an option. Having said that, I grew up in two cultures. I have experiences the good and the bad, the racism from the ignorant people to disappointments from Vietnamese elders. Growing up as a child and not understanding why kids were making fun of me. From being the black sheep and not your ordinary Vietnamese girl (smoking, drinking, partying) to a successful adult. However, I look back on the strict Vietnamese family I grew up in and during that time, hated every moment but now cherish that my parents made me learn to read, write and speak Vietnamese which now when I have a family will pass that on to them.

Your experiences...
