My God...
one of the scariest movie for me was the movies from the 80's, like 'Si Manis Jembatan Ancol' or 'Sunder Bolong'. but if i ever see those movies now, I'd be laughing like crazy... they were so damn tacky!!!
nowadays they produce lots and lots of horror movies, such "Suster Ngesot", "Jembatan Casablanka", "Kuntilanak" (not pontianak, pontianak is a city in Kalimantan), "Jelangkung", and lots lots more..

Except for the 2001 Jelangkung the movie - which is pretty original in script & special effect - sadly there aren't anymore good horror movies, New horror movies are juts following trend and losing their originality which is shameful of course considering that in the 70s & 80s Indonesia produce a lot scarry movies... such as (my fave), Penghuni Rumah Tua... :-p

Jelangkung's definitely scary for me. I don't want to watch it again. There's other like Pocong 2, Kuntilanak Merah, Bangsal 13, Angkerbatu, Terowongan Casablanca, Suster Ngesot, Lantai 13( just seeing from the billboard this morning), etc.

i dont know if indonesian horror movie can be considered as good. As far as i know, yes, they are super scary, but they are super crappy as well.
The movie that will come out soon is Malam Jumat Kliwon. So you probably want to watch that.
