We're moving to Utah around Sept. and are driving.. We aren't in any hurry and want to take in some sights. Any ideas on sightseeing on the route to Utah??

The drive down the alaska Highway is an eye opener all by itself! Along the way you will find Kluane Lake the gemstone of the Kluane Wilderness area. Also, don't miss some time at Muncho Lake, near Stone Mountain Provincial Park.

Keep on trucking for Grand Prarie, and take in Edmonton, then on down to Jasper, and then the Icefield Parkway to Banff. Calgary is kinda fun in places, but just a short distance East is Drumheller.

Drumheller is the Dinasour capital of... well everywhere. It is a world Heritage Site, and don't miss the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaentology, dedicated to the study of Dinasaurs.

Take your MilePost, you'll need it.

I have taken two different routes coming down from Alaska. If you go down through Montana you can checkout Glacier National Park. Although that might not be too exciting given where you are leaving.

I actually preferred go down the coast line of Washington, Oregon and California. Then going across Nevada to get to Utah. The coastline is an absolutely beautiful drive. We also took the opportunity to go and see the Redwood forest. As well you might want to check out Lake Tahoe on your way over to Utah.

Check the map, there's only one road out of Alaska. Just make sure you have a full tank of gas before you start. In September, in the mountains, you will be driving in snow.
Edmonton and Calgary are nice, but by the time you get that far you'll probably be sick of looking at mountains anyway, which is a shame because the national parks in Alberta and Montana are all excellent. Just pick one.
