The tsa.gov site is OK, but I found it a bit confusing...especially when it came to meds. Having just gone to Argentina and back, here's what I found worked:

Keep all gels, lotions, and fluids in 3 oz or less containers. Rouge, lipstick, lip balm, sun tan lotion, hand lotion, and such are typically gels, lotions, or fluids; so they must be 3 oz or less if you intend to carry them on board rather than check them through.

Keep all the above in a one quart plastic bag if you intend to carrying them aboard the aircraft. You may not have more than one bag per passenger.

Carry nothing that can be construed as a weapon or weapon capable. Long, sharp pointy things are definitely out. You can pack these in check through. Obviously guns and such are a no no in carry ons. Explosives are a no no...period.

a. You can bring on board any electronics; be prepared to turn them on to show they are functional however. I've seen Ipods, Walkmen, lap tops, Game Boys, Bose sound supressers, DVD players, and on and on, in aircraft. You must keep them off duriing takeoff and landing however.

b. Pens and pencils, interestingly, seem to be OK. All those other drawing things are not long pointy things; so they're OK too.

c. You can bring any food on board you wish, but in some airports no water in bottles and no other liquids (for the same reason you can't bring liquid makeup on board if it's over 3 oz). A lot of airports have grab and go meals to take with you on a plane. And some airports allow water bottles if they were bought at the airport, inside the security perimeter.

d. MISC: wear slip on shoes to expedite your passage through security where they will ask you to remove your shoes. Put all your metal items (keys, coins, wristwatch, necklace, etc.) in a small plastic bag before getting to the security line. Put that stuff through the xrays along with jackets, sweaters, and stuff like that. Show up three hours in advance of takeoff for international flights if your airport has no other advice on that. Two hours suffices for domestic flights.

About Meds...

The best I can figure, prescription meds should be kept in their original prescription bottles. Over the counter meds should be included in the 3 oz or under category covered at the top. That is, no big bottles of Pepto Bismo for example. And they, too, must fit into that one quart plastic bag along with all your makeup and other 3 oz stuff.

Other than that...have a great trip.

At the moment no liquids that are over 100ml are allowed onto the aircraft in your hand luggage except if they have been brought at the airport and are sealed in a special bag.

Ipods and phones are allowed, food is allowed provided its dry i.e no baby food which is in a jar. Do not by any drinks or perfumes before you pass the security point because you will have to dispose it before you can go through. Once in Departure you are able to shop any liquid product and take it on board in a sealed bag. I hope this helps

False for me. I understand them because they are there for you to prevent you for getting hurt in an accident when and if the airplane crashes. You can tighten them if they are loose on you. That way don't hit your head on the front seat. The cabin crew does have to sit down on when the airplane is taking off or landing.

Yes, you can bring your ipod, drawing utensils and paper, and food. The restriction are on liquids (limited to 1 zip top bag with 3oz or smaller containers) and weapons. For a complete list of what is prohibited to bring through security check out the TSA's website on prohibited items. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

Go to http://www.tsa.gov/ for the newest restrictions regarding liquids, etc.

And then check with your individual airline about any restrictions they might have on electronics, etc.
