K so i wanna chilax @ the beach for a while at night. say midnight-ish. Does anyone know if they are closed? Will the cops hassle me?

All Los Angeles County beaches open at 6:00am. A few close at dusk, and all others close at 10:00pm. There is an anti-loitering ordinance in effect for all Los Angeles County beaches from Midnight to 6:00.
If you are on the beach after midnight you stand a greater chance of being harassed by transients, vagrants, and the homeless than by the police.

i go to newport with a bunch of my friends, it closes at midnight. since its right next to a street as well as a few bars the cops dont normally bother us. as long as you arent making alot of noise or doing anything illegal you should be fine. Most beaches close at either 10 or midnight

As long as you are not drinking and are not a minor. Playa del Rey has fire pits. It close to Dockweiler State park where you can camp.
