Don't bring any liquids in your carry-on luggage, including small cosmetic things like lotion and lipgloss, unless you put them in a small ziplock baggie (some airports provide these). Also, to save time, take off your shoes when you're going through security, along with belts, watches, spare change, etc. You also can't leave your baggage unattended. Even if you just get up to go to the bathroom, you have to bring your luggage with you or leave it with whoever you're traveling with.
Have fun on your trip!

If you're going out of the country, like Jamaica or anywhere else in the Caribbean you now are required to have a passport, not just ID and birth certificate.

well, just be prepared to be thoroughly searched. wear easy shoes, cuz you'll have to take em off in the airport. also, if you have any keychain or anything that has something potentially dangerous, even a fingernail clip, either don't take it or put it in your suitcase. just make sure it's not going with you as a carry-on. my keychain was confiscated cuz it had a fingernail clip and mini knife on it, and i accidentally left it in my purse. so my only two options were to go back downstairs in the airport and have them put it in my suitcase, or give it up. i took the latter....

Mostly just the stupid "liquid rules". Any carry on liquids or gels (toothpaste, mouthwash, cologne, etc.) have to be in containers 3 oz. or less and all fit in a quart size zip bag. Wear shoes that are easy to take off (you have to take them off to be xray'd).
