Well...I think the perfect people to ask would be the Mythbusters cause they've used quite a few of those in their episodes :-p
The best bet to find cheap airline seats are to look for a place that takes apart airplanes and resells stuff like the overhead bins, walls, toilets...and seats of all classes and models of aircraft/cabins.
If you are in the mood for private jet type of seats that are brand new: http://www.dtechair.com/ is one place to go to.
http://avsupport.partslogistics.com/?domain=avsupport is a place where you can shop for anything that has to deal with airplane parts...and i think I saw some old ejection seats for sale...
And last bet is to search google and the like for airplane/aircraft seat distributors, airplane salvage yards, and so on. Have fun.
